Your Questions Answered

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our service — from payment and pickup times to detergents and NDIS support.

Do you offer an account?

Ipswich Laundry Service offers different payment methods depending on whether you are a retail, NDIS or commercial client. Retail clients pay automatically the following week after your service for simplicity. Commercial clients are offered terms depending on their needs. NDIS clients are invoiced directly to the portal or to plan managers.

Can you service NDIS participants?

Yes. Ipswich Laundry Service is an accredited National Disability Service provider (provider number 4050014655). We are fully insured and charge retail prices with no additional administration, transaction or account fees.

Do you offer a foul laundry service?

Yes. Ipswich Laundry Service offers a foul laundry service in our designated 'Dirty' area. Our staff are trained, wear the necessary physical protection and have been vaccinated against Hepatitis B and C. All our equipment is cleaned and sterilised between washes. Additional service costs apply for this service.

What detergents do you use?

Depending on the service, Ipswich Laundry Service uses a number of domestic detergents including Ultra Eucalyptus Disinfectant, White vinegar, Professional 7 in 1 and Napisan for hard stains.

Can I use my own detergent?

Yes, you can. If you require personalised detergents, simply provide your detergent with your laundry and we will gladly use it for your service.

What laundry equipment do you use?

Our laundry uses a number of branded machines including Speed Queen. Our facility has five 8kg, two 6kg, two 10kg and one 18kg washing machines, most offering smart water-saving options. In addition, we have five 9kg and four 13kg dryers, which provide different drying features matched to the material, conditions and heat requirements of each load.

What services do you offer?

Ipswich Laundry Service offers a full laundry service for our regular customers, including Wash and Dry, Ironing, Alterations and Repairs. We are also agents for Dry Cleaning. All you need to do is separate the items in their own bag with a quick note and we will arrange any additional service for you.

Who works in the laundry?

Our staff range in age, experience and qualifications depending on the role. Our supervisor worked her way up within our business by teaching, leading and performing at the level required for the role. We also have a qualified seamstress who can offer hand-washing services to protect those precious and fragile items.

What are your opening hours?

Ipswich Laundry Service offers a five-day-per-week pickup only laundry service. We do not have a drop-off service. We are fully operational from 7am to 3pm Monday to Friday and available seven days per week, with after-hours messaging available for bookings.

What are your pickup times?

Our driver cannot offer an exact time of day for pickup, as we have many clients whose schedules change from week to week. This may mean we leave your pickup until later in the day one week and collect it first thing in the morning the next. As long as your laundry is on your doorstep by 8am on your collection day, we will be there to pick it up.

What happens if it rains?

Ipswich Laundry Service provides each of our regular customers with a weatherproof laundry container. While it is not fully waterproof, it does keep out the rain, wind and most moisture. We also cover all ironing in dry-cleaning plastic to keep moisture off your items. If it rains, you may find your ironing stored under the house, on the rear patio or in the garage — we will always let you know where we have stored it if it is not in the normal spot.

Will I have the same driver each week?

Generally, yes — however this is not guaranteed and your driver may occasionally vary. Our drivers have the same day each week to drive. During their induction they complete two weeks of driving covering all customer pickups and deliveries, so every driver knows exactly where to collect from and deliver to.

Do you pay your staff correctly?

Yes. Ipswich Laundry Service pays all staff in accordance with the MA000096 Dry Cleaners and Laundry Industry Award 2020. This award covers overtime, training, superannuation, workers compensation and all entitlements that an employee in Australia is entitled to, including a safe and healthy work environment.

Will my items be protected?

Retail clients: Ipswich Laundry Service is committed to your complete satisfaction. We have well-trained laundry and ironing staff who have been servicing our clients for many years. However, from time to time we get it wrong and damage something. Should an item be lost or damaged while in our care, we will offer our service guarantee — the cost of replacing the item or up to the value of your last service, whichever is less. For example, if your service cost $100 and an item is damaged or lost, we will cover the cost to replace that item or up to $300, whichever is less. Commercial clients: Should an item be lost or damaged while in our care, we will offer a Laundry Service Credit that can be applied to future services, to the value of the service we completed at the time of the error.
